I am currently shooting the VAP V6 900 from my 35lb Hoyt Avalon. My arrow shaft is 27.5" and equipped with 31gr Easton ace points and 41grain adapters. My bare shaft peels off about 24" left of my fletched grouping to indicate an over spined arrow.
I have ordered your 1000 spined Medallion XR's with the 60-100 gr tips. I will first try with the full 100 grain tip to see where the bare shaft ends up. All my experiences have shown that the universal constant in all carbon arrow shafts that I have tried is that the recommended arrow would need a much heavier pair of limbs to make the bare shaft strike at 7'olck 1-3" from my fletched shafts.
My second quandary is to the the consistency of the spine rating from manufacturer to manufacturer is? Is your 900 equivalent to and Easton or Victory 900 rating, or does this vary on how the carbon is wrapped, pultruded or meshed?
Thank you
Harry Kertscher
